The use of silicone O-rings is a very important part of industrial production. Especially with the continuous strengthening of industrial development, the importance of various types of industrial production is becoming more and more common.
Regarding the application of silicone O-rings, most of them are static seals and dynamic seals. It is precisely because of such application fields that the proportion of silicone O-rings used in many seals has greatly increased, but some Under such circumstances, there will be certain differences between static seals and dynamic seals. So in this case, how to choose a silicone O-ring?
For static sealing, the compression rate of the silicone O-ring is set to about 25%. (Oring cross-section diameter - groove depth)/Oring cross-section diameter ≈ 25%; the dynamic seal is divided into circumferential direction rotation and axial direction reciprocating motion. When rotating in the circumferential direction, not all silicone O-rings can achieve a complete sealing effect, so once this is the case, it is still not recommended to use silicone O-rings. If there is reciprocating movement in the axial direction, in order to prevent the silicone O-ring from wearing out too quickly, the compression rate must be appropriately reduced. And the requirements for the thickness of the moving surface are relatively high.
Only by knowing enough about silicone O-rings can we fully exert its effect when using silicone O-rings, and can we avoid problems caused by improper selection.
